Agreement to export Egyptian citrus to China

Egypt has signed an agreement with the Chinese CAWA to export Egyptian citrus to the Chinese market, according to a statement from the Trade and Industry Ministry.
 
Mohsen al-Beltagy, head of the Horticultural Exports Improvement Association, said the agreement will contribute to the export of large quantities of oranges of all kinds to the Chinese market.
 
He said CAWA includes 300 of the largest wholesale importers of agricultural products, account for 80 percent of the Chinese market.
 
Attending the signing of the agreement were Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, representative of the Agricultural Crops Export Council Abdel Hamid al-Demerdash, executive director of the Horticultural Exports Improvement Association Iman Kamel and 13 CAWA importers.
