The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned Tuesday the re-trial of businessman Ahmed Ezz, as well as Amr Assal, the former head of the Industrial Development Authority to September 5. The case, which deals with iron licenses, was postponed at the request of the defense.
The Court of Cassation had accepted the challenge filed by Ezz and Assal against a former ruling by the Cairo Criminal Court, sentencing them to10 years of hard labor. The court had also sentenced former Trade and Industry Minister Rashid Mohamed Rashid to 15 years of hard labor in absentia.
