Arab League chief to explain Syria conference postponement

Arab league chief Nabil al-Araby will meet Wednesday with delegations participating in the Syrian opposition conference that was postponed indefinitely.

The permanent representative of Kuwait in the Arab League and the head of the current session said Araby will meet with a delegation representing the UN monitoring mission, the UN, the EU and Arab countries invited to attend the conference, along with delegates from Egypt, Qatar, Algeria, Oman, Sudan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

The meeting aims at explaining the reasons for postponing the conference and efforts of the Arab League to hold it.

The conference was postponed Monday based on requests from parties in the Syrian opposition, due to not having a unified vision and the boycott of some movements.
