Alexandria residents protest house floodings by blocking railways

Residents of the Naga al-Arab district west of Alexandria blocked the railways of the Matrouh trains on Saturday to protest the fact that their houses have been flooded from the heavy rain.

They have refused to move from the tracks until the water is pumped out of their homes and they are compensated for the material losses they have suffered.

Additionally, the residents of Ameriya, west of Alexandria blocked a bridge on the Cairo-Alexandria desert road for the same reason. They say sanitation department workers requested they pay LE400 each to have the water removed.
