Health Ministry prepares for Friday demonstration

Deputy Health Minister Hesham Sheiha said the ministry has made preparations to ensure health services for Friday's demonstration in Tahrir Square.

The ministry provided 25 ambulances to cover all of Tahrir Square, in addition to three well-equipped moving clinics. The ministry hospitals near the square have been provided with extra blood and the central emergency room at the Health Ministry has been prepared.

The demonstration was called for by revolutionary youth groups to demand that the ruling military council hand over power, to reject the article of the Constitutional Declaration granting the Presidential Elections Commission immunity, and to protest the presidential bids of former regime figures, including Omar Suleiman, who has since been disqualified. Islamist groups, including the Muslim Brotherhood, are also planning on participating in the demonstration.
