Amr Adib reveals government’s response to increasing period of load shedding

Egyptian TV host Amr Adib commented on reports that the Electricity Ministry is increasing the duration of power cuts and amending the time for load shedding to become an hour and a half instead of one hour.

During his show “al-Hekaya” (The Story), on MBC Masr on Saturday, Adib said that this: “The power is being cut off, and however we are entering winter, the period of cutting off the power is increasing, so tell us, is this is an exceptional situation, or it is continuing with us all along?”.

He added: “They say it is 90 minutes, but it is two hours. If there is a problem or a shortage in diesel, tell us how much it will be, will it be for long, will it increase, will it decrease?”

“This issue shouldn’t be a secret. We need someone to answer us, and we want to know the reasons.”

He pointed out that he contacted the Electricity Ministry, which replied that this matter concerns the Cabinet.

Adib then said he contacted the cabinet, adding that they responded and told him that they will see and get back to him – yet no one has come back.
