Antiquities Ministry: Al-Meadawy Dome in Aswan not completely damaged

The Fatimid Al-Meadawy Dome in Aswan was not completely damaged, said Mohamed Abdel Latif, head of the Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Department, on Tuesday.

He said only the southern part of the outer wall and the top half of the dome were damaged when a winch fell on it while working at the Symposium area west of the dome.

The dome is the second in the row of the Fatimid Domes area in Aswan facing the Nubian Museum.

He said a committee went to the area to inspect the damage and report to the Tourism and Antiquities Police.
