High Representative of EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton said in a press conference Thursday that the EU respects the will of the Egyptian people and is trying to find a way for Egyptian people to enjoy democracy.
Ashton added that she felt that everybody is willing to move forward in the right way.
She said that she had met with Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and expressed condolences for the death of Egyptian soldiers.
Ashton stressed during her meeting with officials the need to establish a comprehensive political process in Egypt.
Ashton also said the EU is not interfering in Egypt's internal affairs but prefers to involve all parties in the political process.
