Cairo airport facilitate entry measures for Syrians, says official

Authorities at the Cairo International Airport have said they are easing entry procedures for the hundreds of Syrians fleeing the turmoil in their country over the past few days, including granting visas on arrival.

Over the past two days, the airport received over 300 Syrians, most of them families, who arrived on a number of flights coming from Aleppo, Damascus and Amman.

The director of the airport’s passports department, Major General Magdy al-Semman, said that all officers working in his department, as well as those working at the rest of the airport, have instructions to provide all possible help for arriving Syrians.
