Careem Egypt offers 50% discount for doctors and nurses in Cairo, Alexandria

Ride-sharing company Careem on Monday announced its support for medical professionals during their fight against coronavirus by offering Egyptian doctors and nurses a 50 percent discount on all rides in Cairo and Alexandria.

A statement by the company said that this offer is being made available in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population and Castrol, a BP company specializing in motor oils.

The offer will continue for one month in order to assist medical professionals with their commutes and to show gratitude for their efforts at this critical stage.

The service — called Go Hero — offers unlimited 50-percent-off rides in the Cairo and Alexandria governorates when using the Go Hero service on the app and the Wecare promo code.

The service will be applied using a database of doctors and nursing staff supported by the Health and Population Ministry, or by filling in data through a link that Careem has put on its Facebook and Instagram pages.

CEO of Careem Egypt Wael Abul-Ela emphasized the company’s keenness to support healthcare professionals who are risking their lives lives to overcome this disease, which threatens the lives of many Egyptians.

Wael Abdel Shaheed, General Manager of Castrol Egypt, said that this partnership Careem and the Egyptian Ministry of Health will contribute effectively to supporting Egyptian society in addressing the current circumstances.
