When does Winter Time 2026 begin in Egypt?

As October draws to a close, interest has risen regarding date of the clock change in Egypt for 2026—specifically, when Daylight Saving Time ends and Winter Time begins.

Winter Time 2026

Daylight Savings Time began on Friday, April 24 pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 24 of 2023 regarding the Daylight Saving Time system.

When are clocks set back by 60 minutes?

In Egypt, the transition from Daylight Saving Time to winter time is scheduled—in accordance with the law—for the end of the last Thursday in October.

Upon the switch to winter time, clocks are set back by 60 minutes, reverting to standard time from the daylight saving time observed previously, during which clocks had been advanced by one hour.

For mobile phones, the clock can be set automatically by accessing the settings, selecting “Date & Time,” and enabling the automatic date and time setting feature.

If the clock does not update automatically, the user can check the time zone settings, ensure that automatic updates are enabled, and adjust the clock following the switch to winter time.
