The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that banks will resume their normal working hours, until three pm starting Tuesday, instead of five pm.
According to a recent circular issued by CBE, it has now been decided to return to the previous schedule, with working hours ending at three pm starting Tuesday morning, following the end of the extended working period.
The CBE had previously issued Circular #482 dated July 8 extending the working hours of some bank branches until five pm during official working days (Sunday to Thursday).
This decision aimed at facilitating provision of banking services to customers in light of the pressure on demand in some branches, according to the geographical distribution of each bank.
The extension came as part of the Central Bank’s efforts to support financial access and alleviate pressure on branches during peak times, especially in vital and commercial areas.
