
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that Chinese investments in Egypt have surpassed US$ 10 billion, RT reported on Monday.
During the third meeting of the Ministerial Committee for China Affairs, he explained that a large number of companies operating in various economic sectors represent these investments.
These investments reflect the growing confidence of the Chinese business community in the Egyptian investment climate and the promising opportunities the country offers investors, he added.
He explained that these projects encompass various sectors, such as:
- Industry
- Seawater desalination
- Localization of modern technologies
- Communications
- Transportation
- Mining
- Clean Energy
- Specialized chemical industries
- Engineering industries
- Agriculture
- Expanding agricultural exports
They also cover other areas that contribute to supporting sustainable development efforts, enhancing technology transfer, increasing investments, and broadening the base of economic cooperation between Egypt and China.
Madbouly emphasized the depth of the strategic relations between Cairo and Beijing, noting that the growth of Chinese investments reflects increasing confidence from the Chinese business community in the Egyptian investment climate.
