Court upholds decision banning Muslim Brotherhood

Cairo Court of Appeals for Urgent Matters rejected on Saturday a challenge by Muslim Brotherhood lawyer Hamed Seddeeq demanding suspension of the verdict banning activities of Muslim Brotherhood and confiscating its assets.

The court had earlier rejected an appeal to the decision by the Court of First Instance, which banned the group's activities and confiscated its assets.

The original original ruling in September banned all activities by the Brotherhood and its NGO and any association affiliated to it or receive funds from it.
