
A multi-vehicle collision on Cairo’s Ring Road near the Basateen district early Thursday morning resulted in one fatality and 15 injuries, with the injured transported to the hospital.
Preliminary assessments indicate the incident involved seven vehicles, one of which burst into flames above Ezbet Khairallah.
Traffic authorities swiftly responded, and all debris have since been cleared.
A distress call alerted emergency services to the multi-vehicle crash on the Ring Road, located in Cairo’s Basateen district, specifically near Ezbet Khairallah, on the Monib-bound stretch.
The catastrophic crash occurred on the route from Maadi to Monib, causing a complete cessation of traffic in both directions.
Authorities are currently working to identify and count the victims, with a significant presence of civil defense, ambulance services, and general traffic department officers working to sort out the scene and restore normal traffic flow.
