Defendants acquitted in Maadi riots case

The Maadi Misdemeanor Court accepted an appeal submitted by 12 defendants against their three-year prison sentence in the Maadi riots case, acquitting them of charges.

The court also reduced the sentence against Tarek Mohamed al-Sayed, Alaa Abdel Azim Shaalan and Wagih Sabry Aziz Farag from three years to two years in prison and fined them each LE50,000.
 
The acquitted defendants are: Bahaa Abdel Haq Ibrahim, Mohsen Abdel Tawab, Osama Ibrahim, Kamal Abdel Khaliq Mohamed, Yasser Ahmed Salim, Ihab Zaki Abdel Meguid, Abdel Moneim Ibrahim, Anwar Abdallah, Kamar Eddin Noubi, Ahmed Abdel-Moneim Abdel-Rasoul, Hassan Abbas Mohamed and Ahmed Mahmoud.
