Education minister: Ministry adopts radical transformation in education system

Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif asserted on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, that the ministry is adopting a fundamental transformation in the education system, shifting from purely theoretical teaching of economic concepts to enabling students to practice them in real-world environments.

This came during Abdel Latif’s speech at the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting financial literacy among school students.

He explained that the new national program targets first and second year secondary students and seeks to integrate financial literacy, investment awareness, and entrepreneurship into the curriculum.

This is part of a modern educational model that bridges knowledge with hands-on application.

He emphasized that this approach goes beyond simply adding a new subject; it represents a qualitative shift in teaching methods.

Students will be given the opportunity to work with real investment accounts and funded portfolios, allowing them to experience trading on the Egyptian Stock Exchange under the supervision of specialists, he said.

This will strengthen their decision-making abilities, sense of responsibility, and understanding of value creation and risk management, he added.

Abdel Latif added that the initiative aims to prepare a generation capable of understanding and navigating economic challenges with awareness and competence.

He described the project as an investment in Egypt’s economic future and its long-term sustainability.
