Egypt condemned the attack that targeted the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon on Saturday, which resulted in the killing of a French soldier and injuries to others.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt stressed its full rejection of any targeting of the UN peacekeeping force.
Egypt also underscored the need to enable UNIFIL to carry out its duties in support of security and stability in Lebanon.
It further extended its sincere condolences to the government of France over the death of the French serviceman and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
