Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held phone calls on Wednesday April 1,2026 with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The move comes in line with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s directives for proceeding with efforts to reduce regional escalation.
The calls focused on rapidly evolving regional developments and coordinating joint efforts to de-escalate tensions.
The ministers discussed the critical situation in the region, emphasizing the importance of continuing and intensifying diplomatic efforts to reduce escalation.
The Egyptian foreign minister stressed that further escalation threatens regional and international peace and security, asserting that prioritizing calm, diplomacy, and dialogue is the only way to prevent the region from sliding into widespread chaos.
The calls also addressed the outcomes of the recent quadrilateral ministerial meeting held in Islamabad, Pakistan, with exchanged views on continuing efforts to stop the war and reduce escalation in a way that ensures the sustainability of regional and international moves aimed at establishing stability in the region.
