Egypt, Poland hold round of political consultations

Egypt and Poland held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, a new round of political consultations at the headquarters of Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, headed by Assistant to Foreign Minister for European Affairs Wael Hamed and Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Wojciech Zajączkowski.

The talks reflected the growing momentum in Egyptian-Polish relations across political, economic and cultural levels, particularly following the visit of Poland’s foreign minister to Cairo in April 2025.

The two sides underlined Poland’s important position within Egypt’s strategy to deepen ties with Central European countries, in light of Warsaw’s increasing role within the European Union and its significance as a key European partner for Cairo.

Discussions focused on ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation amid rising interest from Polish companies in the Egyptian market and the opportunities offered by Egypt in industry, energy, infrastructure, logistics and technological transformation.

The Egyptian side reviewed the country’s recent infrastructure development, investment climate reforms and legislative updates aimed at supporting the private sector, affirming Egypt’s commitment to providing all necessary facilities for Polish companies seeking to expand or launch new investments in the country.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments in Europe and the Middle East, stressing the importance of continued political coordination and consultation to support regional stability and diplomatic solutions to crises.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides agreed to maintain the positive momentum in bilateral ties and intensify communication and coordination in the coming period to serve mutual interests.

Separately, an Egyptian-Polish business forum was held with broad participation from business representatives and economic institutions from both countries.

The forum brought together 22 Polish companies representing several vital economic sectors and served as a platform to explore investment opportunities and strengthen direct business-to-business cooperation.

During the forum, Hamed said Egypt views Poland as a key partner in Central Europe and an important pillar in strengthening relations with the European Union, highlighting Egypt’s economic and structural reforms and its readiness to support long-term economic partnerships between the two countries.
