According to Egyptian Ministry spokesperson Badr Abdel Aaty, Egypt seeks political and financial support from the international community against the extremists.

There is a suggestion to form a military Arab alliance led by Egypt to fight terrorism in some countries in the region, Abdel Aaty said Monday.

The proposal will be discussed during the Arab summit scheduled in Cairo at the end of March.

Sisi also spoke to Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in an attempt to unite international efforts against terrorism.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry contacted senior UN officials Monday, who include the secretary general, his senior aides and 15 members of the Security Council, to discuss the developments in Libya.

Shokry also received phone calls from his US and French counterparts, John Kerry and Laurent Fabius, respectively, who condemned the killing of the 21 Egyptians.
