Egypt to begin Daylight Saving Time 2026 in April

Egypt is preparing to transition to Daylight Saving Time (DST) for 2026, with clocks set to move forward by 60 minutes in the coming weeks. The shift, which aims to maximize daylight hours and rationalize national energy consumption, will officially take effect at midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Under Law No. 24 of 2023, the nation’s legal time is advanced by one hour starting from the last Friday of April through the final Thursday of October each year.

According to the statutory schedule, clocks will be adjusted forward from 12:00 AM to 1:00 AM on the morning of Friday, April 24. This synchronized shift will remain in place for exactly six months, concluding on the last Thursday of October 2026.
