Egypt will not backtrack on stance against funders of terrorism: Sisi

Egypt will not back down on its stance against funders and supporters of terrorism, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said in a statement Wednesday, stressing no compromises would be made in this regard as it would threaten the lives of innocent people.

The statement was done on the official Facebook page of the presidency spokesperson.

Terrorism has caused huge damage to the Arab nation over the past years, both in terms of the loss of lives that are priceless, and economic destruction, the statement quoted Sisi as saying.

Confronting terrorism decisively and strongly has become a must, he added.

Egypt is keen on keeping its foreign policy from interfering in the affairs of other countries, or conspiring against them, especially neighboring countries, Sisi mentioned.

He added that Egypt’s foreign policy is independent and based on a set of values and noble principles, a time dominated by narrow interests above humanitarian and moral considerations.

Egypt will not forget the positions of its brothers who stood by its side at difficult times, he concluded.
