Egyptian-Jordanian military drill kicks off in Egypt

The Egyptian and Jordanian armies launched a military drill on Tuesday under the name “Aqaba 3,” which is set to run for several days in Egypt, a statement by the Armed Forces, read.

The exercise will include land forces, Egypt’s southern fleet, commandos, paratroopers, the Air Force, and special navy units, according to the statement.

The location of the drill was not disclosed.

The two militaries will exchange expertise as well as practice maintaining readiness to plan, coordinate and conduct joint missions in the face of unusual threats and other challenges.

In recent months, Egypt conducted several military exercises with various countries including Greece, Russia, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
