Egypt’s election period sees unstable weather and possible floods for 48 hours: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) revealed unstable weather forecasts during the presidential elections period from Sunday, December 10 to Tuesday, December 12.

The EMA said that from Monday until the end of Tuesday unstable weather conditions is expected in most areas.

Monday will possibly see moderate rain and thunderstorms, the EMA said, in areas of South Sinai, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Red Sea mountain ranges, with possible torrential rain in some areas.

The EMA anticipates light to moderate rain on areas of the northwestern coasts, northern Lower Egypt, southern Upper Egypt, and the Western Desert.

As for Tuesday, December 12, moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected on areas of the northern coasts, northern Lower Egypt, and North and Central Sinai.

Moderate rain will hit areas of South Sinai and Suez Canal cities, extending light rain to areas of southern Lower Egypt and Greater Cairo.

Active winds across the northwestern and southern coasts of the country are also expected.
