Eight Brotherhood members sentenced to 20 years over Banha violence

The Shubra al-Kheima criminal court sentenced a former Muslim Brotherhood parliamentarian and seven others to 20 years in prison on Monday for their involvement in a violent altercation outside the Banha police station in 2013.
 
Former MP and Brotherhood member Mohsen Rady, along with other co-defendants, was also fined LE1,000 for the violence that followed the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi.
 
They defendants were found guilty of affiliation with a banned organization (the Muslim Brotherhood), rioting, sabotage and the attempted murder of one civilian.
