Fatah and Hamas agree on details of forming new govt

Egypt on Tuesday announced that Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah have reached agreements on all issues discussed during the past two days in Cairo, particularly the formation of a new Palestinian government.

In a statement issued following their negotiations, the two factions pledged on implementing everything they agreed on.

After signing an Egypt-brokered reconciliation pact earlier this month, Fatah and Hamas held meetings in Cairo over the past two days to determine how to implement the agreement.

The two sides discussed how to form the new government, the date for the meeting of the Palestinian Liberation Organization's executive committee and how to address the repercussions of division between the factions, according to the statement.

Both parties were cooperative during the meetings, the statement said.
