FM receives calls from counterparts congratulating Egypt on Gaza agreement

CAIRO, Oct 9 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received on Thursday several phone calls from his counterparts across Arab, Muslim, African, European, and Asian countries, who welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached to end the war in the Gaza Strip, in line with US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.

During the phone talks, the foreign ministers expressed their deep appreciation for the role played by the wise and prudent leadership of Egypt in facilitating negotiations between Hamas and Israel to strike this historic agreement to halt the war in the Palestinian enclave.

They emphasized the deal represents a crucial step toward stopping the bloodshed of innocent Palestinians, securing the release of Israeli hostages and a number of detained Palestinians, and allowing the entry of humanitarian aid and medical supplies into Gaza in the required quantities, paving the way for the reconstruction of the enclave while ensuring that Palestinians remain on their homeland.

For his part, Abdelatty voiced hope that the deal would put an end to the two-year conflict in Gaza and open a new chapter where both Palestinians and Israelis can enjoy security and stability, paving the way for a just and lasting peace between the two sides. (MENA)
