Photos: From Dahab to Al-Tur, here are 8 of Egypt’s most beautiful beaches

The A Soma de Todos os Afetos website recommended spectacular beaches in Egypt for Portuguese tourists to travel to, describing them as delightful destinations for beach enthusiasts and sun seekers alike.

“Whether you are longing for a quiet getaway, a fan of exciting water sports, or just want to relax under the warm golden sun, Egypt’s beaches are sure to fulfill every sunbather’s dream,” the site says.

1. Blue Lagoon – Dahab

The website described the Blue Lagoon in Dahab as one of the most exciting beaches in Egypt.

Sediment dumped from the mountains formed an entire sandy beach in Dahab.

Dahab is a town on a cove of yellow Labrador sands, described as the “Ibiza of Egypt.” It is famous for windsurfing and kite surfing, as direct winds allow for excellent water conditions to do these sports.

Diving is also a great gift of the coral reefs off the beach, with many diving schools for tourists there.

2- Sidi Abdel Rahman – North Coast

For those who want a long day at the beach, head to Sidi Abdel Rahman, located about 25 km (15 miles) from El Alamein.

This sweet, sugar-colored beach is a must-see in western Alexandria. Now backed by the high-end hotels and entertainment complex known as Marassi Resort, it is also an ideal stopover for travelers who need to rest on their trip to Siwa Oasis.

3 – Naama Bay – Sharm El-Sheikh

North of Ras Mohammed in an attractive natural harbor is Sharm el-Sheikh city, where a number of holiday resorts mingle, including Ras Mohammed, Coral Bay, Sharks Bay and Ras Nasrani.

The best beach there is Naama Bay, a touristy arc of soft, floury sand with blue waters.

Some of the best areas for diving and snorkeling are close enough, including Burj, Ras Um Sid, Ras Nasrani, and Nabq.

4 – El Gouna – Hurghada

The resort of El Gouna, 21km north of Hurghada, is the most regal holiday town in Egypt to this day.

Everything focuses on the sun-drenched brown sands, shaped by the slow, clear waves.

The resort is characterized by its fluffy umbrellas, towel services, as well as a selection of five-star holiday resorts.

5- Nuweiba- Sinai

Nuweiba, 75km north of Dahab, is one of Egypt’s finest resorts, especially since accommodation is cheap in seaside reed huts and cozy outdoor cafes. It can be found in the Tarabin area to the north.

With its sandy bays, and gorgeous coral reefs full of fish, Nuweiba is a favored destination among Jordanian tourists arriving by ferry from Aqaba.

It is highlighted by Mount Sinai and the Gulf of Aqaba like a blue carpet.

6- Abu Dabab Beach – Marsa Alam

‎Marsa Alam used to be a small fishing town until developers realized that Abu Dabab Beach is a true paradise for divers.

Its climate and geographical location make it ideal for the formation of coral reefs.

Marsa Alam is now full of hotels, villas, restaurants and shops, making it the southern alternative to El Gouna.

7- Moon Beach – Ras Sudr

One of the best spots for windsurfing in Egypt is Moon Beach in Ras Sudr. The wide beach is popular with Cairo locals who have holiday homes there.

Unlike the Gulf of Aqaba on the east coast of Sinai, the Gulf of Suez is a shallow sandy beach teeming with abundant marine life.

There are also many water sports that can be practiced here.

8 – Al Tur Beach – South of Mount Sinai

In the old days, Al Tur city in South Sinai used to be the main base for pilgrims returning to Egypt from Mecca.

Despite the scattered palm groves and its beautiful beach and being a great location for kite-surfing, few tourists visit the city.
