Gulf states’ security inviolable, says Egyptian prime minister

The security of the Gulf states is inviolable, said Prime Minister Essam Sharaf to reporters following a meeting with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

Sharaf also said the United Arab Emirates looks forward to increasing its investments in Egypt in various business sectors.

Sheikh Khalifa said that he considers Egypt his second homeland, and that he plans to visit it soon.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed al-Orabi also met with his UAE counterpart in Abu Dhabi. “Our relationship with Iran would not be at the expense of the Gulf states,” he said after the meeting.
