Health officials sentenced to jail

The Giza Criminal Court, presided over by Nabil Mohamed Abdel Meguid, has sentenced two Ministry of Health officials to five years in prison for receiving bribes and forging bids.

The first official was fined LE1,095,000 for accepting bribes and an additional LE400,000 for embezzlement. The second official was fined LE50,000. Other officials were freed.

Prosecution had referred three officials, the owner of a car maintenance and marketing company and his two employees, to court after charging them with  paying and accepting bribes.
