Huge fire controlled on Rowei’y street

Fire fighters brought under control a fire that broke out on Sunday among street vendors' stalls on Rowei’y street (off al-Bosta street) in Cairo, before the blaze reached the nearby shops, according to Major General Gamal Halawa, head of the Cairo Civil Protection Department.

Three persons were taken to hospital suffering from asphyxia, he added.

15 fire engines were used to extinguish the fire.
