Hurghada receives first EgyptAir flight from Prague

Hurghada International Airport has received its first EgyptAir flight from Prague, with 97 passengers on board.

The airline is scheduled to operate two weekly flights from the Czech capital to Hurghada.

Upon landing, airport authorities of Hurghada International Airport sprayed water on the plane’s fuselage, an international tradition to welcome the arrival of the first flight.

The public relations team at the airport received the passengers with flowers and souvenirs, and helped them quickly complete their arrival procedures under all COVID-19 precautionary measures.

The recent increase and resumption of international flights to the Red Sea city will likely spur an uptick in tourism, which resorts and workers in the country are anxious for after a year of coronavirus restrictions decimated Egypt’s tourism revenue.
