Israel announces closure of all roads in southern Lebanon as war with Hezbollah rages on

Israel’s occupation army announced the closure of roads to the Upper Galilee, Galilee Panhandle, and areas adjacent and exposed to the Lebanese border on Monday morning until further notice.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported earlier on Sunday about the closure of several settlements in the Galilee, due to warnings about the launch of anti-tank missiles from Lebanon.

Hezbollah announced on Monday it has targeted the Beit Hillel military base, east of the Kiryat Shmona settlement, with casualties confirmed.

Israeli Channel 12 however reported that two anti-tank missiles fell in the Beit Hillel settlement in the Upper Galilee without any casualties.

Israeli artillery shelling targeted the vicinity of the town of Kfar Kila in southern Lebanon, accompanied by strong explosions.

The channel added that anti-tank missiles were launched from Lebanon on Monday morning, towards the towns of Doviv and Mitat in the Upper Galilee, while the occupation army targeted several sites belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Israeli warplanes carried out a series of air strikes targeting the outskirts of the towns of Aita al-Shaab, Ramia, and Mays al-Jabal, damaging agricultural land and houses in southern Lebanon without any casualties.

Hezbollah announced that its fighters targeted a deployment of enemy soldiers in the vicinity of the Mitat Barracks with appropriate weapons, achieving direct hits.

Hezbollah fights on

Hezbollah fighters published a video clip in which they announced targeting the Israeli settlement of Avivim near the Lebanese border on Monday evening.

The attack comes in response to, “the repeated Israeli bombing of villages and civilian homes in southern Lebanon, and in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,” following the occupation aircraft’s launch of aerial attack on a house on the western outskirts of the town of Markaba, southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary General, Naeem Qassem, warned that Hezbollah “will continue its escalation if Israel decides to escalate its aggression against Gaza and Lebanon.”

He stressed that the resistance will not “accept that Lebanon remains under threat and intimidation, and that the sooner the enemy stops the aggression, the less it will lose. We cannot abandon our duty and responsibility to defend Palestine and Lebanon.”
