Judges Club members undecided on supervising elections

Judges Club President Ahmed al-Zend said Wednesday that judges have not yet decided whether they will supervise the parliamentary elections scheduled to begin 28 November.

“First, we need to make sure ballots are properly secured,” he said. “We cannot afford to have a passive police [force] during the elections.”

Zend also said there is a conspiracy against the Egyptian judiciary, although he did not elaborate.

“Certain elements push investors to avoid us and resort to courts abroad,” he said.
