Maait meets his Kuwaiti counterpart on the sidelines of the Dubai Forum

Dr. Muhammad Maait, Minister of Finance, held a bilateral meeting with Anwar Al-Mudhaf, Minister of Finance, and Kuwaiti Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, on the sidelines of their participation in the Eighth Public Finance Forum in Dubai.

To discuss ways to deepen bilateral relations, and exchange views on mechanisms for dealing with current global challenges.

The Minister began the meeting by congratulating his Kuwaiti counterpart on his assumption of responsibility for the Ministry, wishing him success, and expressed his aspiration to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation in the financial and tax fields, including a memorandum of understanding on avoiding double taxation in a way that contributes to advancing efforts to enhance joint investments.

He reviewed the most important structural reforms taken by the Egyptian government during the past period, which contributed to achieving positive results on the performance of the Egyptian economy.

The minister affirmed that the Egyptian economy enjoys competitive advantages that are more stimulating for investment and export, as it has a developed and strong infrastructure capable of accommodating new production activities and investment expansions.

He called on Kuwaiti investors to benefit from the investment climate and increase their business in Egypt, especially in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which opens up attractive horizons. for investment flows.

The Minister indicated that there is special interest in small and micro enterprises and this was refleced in the approval of more facilitating tax and customs incentives for this vital sector.
