NEW ALAMEIN, Aug 25 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has stressed that the construction of “Terminal 4” at Cairo International Airport is one of the strategic projects that will mark a qualitative leap in the airport’s services and infrastructure.
He added that the project is expected to become a leading model in airport design and operation worldwide.
This came during a meeting held by Madbouly at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to review progress on the Terminal 4 project, in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Sameh al-Hefny.
For his part, the minister presented the technical and operational specifications of the new terminal, noting that the project is being implemented in line with the latest international standards, making it a significant addition to the airport’s infrastructure.
He explained that the terminal is designed to accommodate no fewer than 30 million passengers annually, which will raise Cairo Airport’s total capacity to 60 million passengers a year, while fully complying with safety, security, and environmental sustainability standards.
The minister pointed out that the project includes a new runway equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and ground lighting systems, extensive car parks fully covered with solar panels, and seamless integration with a modern road network featuring smooth and fast access routes.
It will also include support and operations facilities built in line with international standards. The new terminal, he added, will rely on the latest smart technologies, placing it among the most advanced passenger terminals in the world. (MENA)
