Mortada Mansour sentenced to one month in prison: Khatib’s lawyer

The Economic Misdemeanors Court of Appeals sentenced Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek Club, to one month in prison with hard labor over insulting and defaming Al-Ahly club president Mahmoud al-Khatib.

“The Economic Misdemeanors Court of Appeal, headed by judge Adham Fehem…amended the sentence against Mostada Mansour from one year in prison to one month in prison with hard labor,” Mohamed Othman, the legal advisor to Al-Ahly Club, said, on his Facebook page.

Three other cases are still under investigation by the Public Prosecutor, with the same accusations from Khatib against Mansour, including a video recorded for the Mansour in which he said that Egypt has no men, Othman said in exclusive statements to Al-Masry Al-Youm.

Mansour wrote, through his account on Twitter, after the prison sentence was issued: “After a short time, a video and audio statement for Counselor Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek Club.”
