Parents clean school in Salam city fearing children infection with swine flu

Parents of students of Mohamed Anwar al-Sadat Experimental School in al-Salam city decided to take responsibility of cleaning the classes to protect their children, after four students of the same school were infected with the H1N1 virus, known as swine flu.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, one of the parents said: “It started when four students in the school were infected with the virus. After their parents had them medically examined, the school headmaster decided to give them a leave of absence until they recover. But we, as parents, were concerned. We proposed to pay donations to sterilize the school fearing our children would get infected.”

“After the headmaster refused and called on us to clean the school ourselves, we did. After the school day ends, we bring disinfectants to clean the classes,” the parent added.

The headmaster, meanwhile, refused to declare names of the infected students or even presence of the virus there.
