CAIRO, Jan 1 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reiterated on Thursday his keenness to conduct regular follow-up on the latest developments in the implementation status of the first phase projects of presidential initiative Decent Life “Haya Karima,” which are being carried out across numerous development and service sectors.
He emphasized the need to bring these projects into operation to ensure that citizens in the targeted villages benefit from their services and that the presidential initiative achieves its goal of improving the quality and efficiency of services across Egypt’s villages.
The premier made the remarks during a meeting held Thursday to follow up on the completion of the first-phase projects of the initiative.
He stressed the mobilization of all efforts and the provision of the necessary funding to ensure the swift completion of all projects in the first phase of the “Haya Karima” initiative, enabling citizens to benefit from the diverse services delivered through these projects.
This is in addition to preparations to move into the second phase of the initiative and begin implementing its service and development projects across the targeted villages nationwide.
During the meeting, assistant to the prime minister Randa el-Menshawy reviewed the detailed status of the first-phase projects of the “Haya Karima” initiative, noting that the total number of completed projects has reached 22,013 across various sectors, while 16,519 projects have been officially handed over.
In this context, the prime minister directed that handover committees be formed swiftly for the completed projects so they can be brought into service.
Menshawy said the completed projects—and those nearing completion across the targeted villages—include the establishment or development of ambulance units, irrigation bridges, schools, government and agricultural service complexes, residential buildings, drinking water stations, youth and sports centers, and social solidarity facilities.
Ahmed Abdel-Azim, Director of Dar Al-Handasah, the project’s consulting firm, said work is currently underway to finalize only one remaining project in Gharbia Governorate, after which all projects there will also be completed.
Additionally, only two projects remain in Ismailia Governorate, meaning that projects in these three governorates will then be fully completed.
Abdel Azim added that projects in the governorates of Qalyubia, Luxor, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqia, Damietta, Dakahlia, and Menoufia have achieved advanced execution rates, which will enable them to enter service in the near future and allow citizens to benefit from additional services through these projects.
He also reviewed the projects currently being completed, along with their implementation and financial status. (MENA)
