Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Sunday, August 2, 2026, the government under the direct guidance of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi attaches great importance to supporting Egyptians living abroad, strengthening their ties with their homeland and expanding opportunities for them to contribute to the country’s development.
Speaking in a recorded address to the opening session of the seventh Egyptians Abroad Conference 2026, the Prime Minister said the government was committed to providing services and facilities for expatriates while protecting their rights, interests and dignity.
Madbouly conveyed President El-Sisi’s greetings to Egyptians overseas, describing them as “a cherished part of the Egyptian people” and praising their patriotism and enduring attachment to their homeland despite the distance.
He commended the Foreign Ministry’s efforts to provide services to Egyptians abroad and to strengthen communication with them in coordination with other state institutions.
The Prime Minister thanked Egyptians abroad for supporting the country through their remittances and investments, describing them as a key source of foreign currency that helped the economy withstand recent regional and global challenges.
Madbouly said recent events in the Middle East had created economic pressures, including disruptions to energy supplies, higher fuel prices, rising global inflation and increased tourism, transport, insurance and shipping costs, weighing on growth prospects worldwide, particularly in the Middle East.
He said Egypt had managed to weather those challenges with limited damage and expressed confidence that the economy would return to positive performance, citing expectations of stronger growth, higher employment, lower unemployment and fiscal deficits, and improved exports.
Madbouly added that Egypt continued to pursue comprehensive development across the country, prioritizing investment in education and healthcare, expanding industrial production, agricultural development and new urban communities to improve living standards, create jobs and attract investment.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining close ties with Egyptians abroad, expanding opportunities for them and responding to their needs, saying they remained partners in the country’s development and achievements.
