Police seize large amounts of smuggled fuel, expired cookies

Security authorities have launched an inspection campaign leading to the confiscation of large amounts of smuggled fuel and expired food in multiple governorates, according to an Interior Ministry statement.

Police seized 54,676 liters of smuggled gasoline and diesel, as well as 43,416 tons of expired cookies. Reports of the discoveries have been filed and the suspects referred to investigation.

Police received information that officials at a food company in Beheira rented an unlicensed warehouse in Tanta in order to store large amounts of expired cookies. The expiration dates on the packages were changed in order to sell the cookies on the market.
