Poll: Up to 64% of Israelis demand Netanyahu’s resignation

A recent Israeli poll revealed a sharp increase in the number of Israeli citizens demanding an end to the war and the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Cconducted by the Israel Democracy Institute, the poll showed that 64 percent of Israelis believe Netanyahu should bear responsibility for the October 7, 2023 attack and resign, having sparked the flames of war.

Among these, 45 percent believe Netanyahu should resign immediately, while 19 percent believe he should resign after the war ends.

The poll also revealed that 66 percent of Israelis believe that the time has come to end the Gaza war, while 27 percent believe it must continue, and seven percent of respondents are unsure.

The percentage of Israelis calling for an end to the war increased by 13 percent compared to a poll conducted last year.

The Times of Israel reported that the lives of the hostages are the main reason driving Israelis to call for the war’s end.

The calls to end the war continue to increase as the second anniversary of the October 7 attack carried out by Hamas approaches.

Despite domestic calls and international pressure to halt the war, Netanyahu insists on continuing it, responding to domestic political pressures until the goals set by the Israeli security cabinet were achieved.

Netanyahu in particular faces pressure from far-right ministers in his government, most notably National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who are threatening to withdraw from the government coalition if the war stops and Hamas running the Gaza Strip.
