Qatar military chief arrives in Cairo to discuss Libya

Qatar's military chief of staff arrived in Egypt on Wednesday to discuss regional issues with Egypt's Supreme Council of Armed Forces.

Hamad Ben Ali al-Attiya's visit will only last for a few hours. He will meet with the ruling military council to talk about Libyan unrest and bilateral cooperation.

Qatari warplanes are taking part in military operations in Libya to enforce the UN-backed no-fly zone imposed in March.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Gouda announced Tuesday that aircrafts from the country's royal air forces would also accompany Jordanian military planes carrying aid to Libya.

The United Arab Emirates is the only other Arab country participating in enforcing the no-fly zone.
