Saudi Arabia denies reports of Prince Faisal’s death

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal is not dead, despite media reports to the contrary, Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry stated on Monday.

On 11 August, the 72-year prince underwent a successful operation to remove a simple adhesion in his intestines resulting from a previous surgery and is in stable condition, said the royal court.

The ministry stated that “the Prince arrived in Los Angeles to recover for a few weeks before he returns to the Kingdom.”

He was able to attend to a number of political and administrative issues on Sunday and Monday evening via phone calls, the ministry continued.

Prince Saud is the oldest foreign minister in the world. This is not the first time false rumors about his death have been circulated.
