Video: Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki released in Egypt on Wednesday

The Indian film “Dunki”, starring Shah Rukh Khan, was released in Egyptian theaters on Wednesday.

The film collected about LE56,000 over the course of 24 hours, coming in third place at the box office, while “Wonka” came in second with LE154,000 and “Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom” topped the list with LE325,000.

The plot revolves around “donkey flights” which facilitate illegal immigration into countries such as Canada, the US and UK.

The comedy-drama film represents Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with director Rajkumar Hirani, the director of “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.” (2003) “3 Idiots” (2009), “PK” (2014), and “Sanju” (2018).

Besides Shah Rukh Khan, the film stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal.

The script and dialogue were co-written by Abhijat Josehi and Kanika Dehlon.

Dunki marks Shah Rukh Khan’s third film this year following the box office smash hits of “Pathaan” and “Jawan”, which both grossed over US$135 million globally.
