Sisi shows world leaders around GEM after opening ceremony

CAIRO, Nov 1 (MENA) – Following the opening ceremony Saturday evening, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi led world leaders and delegation heads on a tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

Sisi showed his guests around the “Grand Staircase” and the Tutankhamun Galleries, where the complete collection of over 5,000 artifacts from the young king’s tomb are displayed together for the first time.

Earlier in the evening, Sisi and First Lady Entissar al-Sisi attended the legendary opening ceremony, touted as an exceptional event in the history of human culture and civilization.

The presidential couple was keen to accompany world leaders, kings, and heads of state and government to the event venue. They posed for a photo op with them.

Some 78 official delegations participated in the grand ceremony, including 39 delegations led by kings, princes, and heads of state and government, testifying to the international community’s interest in ancient Egyptian civilization and Egypt’s unique cultural and humanitarian role. (MENA)
