Tahrir Square volunteers call for medical supplies

Doctors volunteering to treat the wounded on Thursday asked for medical supplies saying they were running out of main supplies.

Field hospital doctors stationed in Tahrir Square said they need cotton, gauze, sutures and disinfectant.

Eye witnesses said pro-regime supporters who clashed with demonstrators Wednesday night had spread around the entrances and exits of the square and prevented any medical supplies from reaching the field hospitals.

Some of those who took part in clashes prevented health ministry ambulances from transferring the wounded to hospitals.
