Tantawi would ‘personally’ secure elections, says committee president

Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, president of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forced, said he would “personally” secure the upcoming parliamentary elections, according to Abdel Moez Ibrahim, president of the High Elections Committee (HEC).

Ibrahim also said that postponing the elections is “out of the question.”

He also said that he held a meeting with judges to brief them on the supervisory procedures for the first phase of elections, and that the committee provided them with “all they need” in terms of accommodation and transportation.
