Three cases infected with swine flu appears in Qalyoubia

 

Reports from Qalyoubia governorate indicated on Tuesday the appearance of three new cases infected with swine flu virus, known as H1N1.

The cases were isolated at Nasser Public Hospital for treatment.

 

Zakareyya Abd Rabu, health minister deputy in Qalyoubia, affirmed that all departments of hospitals in the governorate are on high alert and that it has been coordinated with therapeutic medicine department to take precautionary measures at area where the infected live.  

All medical and preventive requirements to treat the patients are provided, he said. Awareness campaigns against the disease are launched by medical teams across the governorate to aware against the disease and methods of prevention.

Coordination with education department took place to finish arrangements ahead of the start of the second semester, abd Rabu added. There has been meeting with officials from Education Ministry and that it has been agreed on presence of representative from Health Ministry to examine students periodically to prevent spread of the infection. Hygienic situation at the governorate regarding the seasonal influenza is reassuring, he said adding there are no reasons for fears or postponing the school year.

Health Ministry put total of deaths from swine flu since December 2013 at 52.
